Outbound has an operations layer nobody sees.
My time at SDLC Corp began as an internship and turned into a full-time Business Development Executive role. I worked on multichannel outreach, CRM operations, and data workflows, and led a five-person operations team.
It was an early lesson in what happens behind a sales campaign.
The work behind the outreach
A campaign isn’t just the message that lands in someone’s inbox. There’s work behind it: managing the data, coordinating execution, keeping CRM workflows usable, and making sure people can actually run the process.
My responsibilities included:
- Running multichannel outreach campaigns.
- Managing CRM operations and data workflows.
- Supporting outreach strategy and campaign execution.
- Leading a five-person operations team.
Why this mattered
This role gave me experience with the operational side of outbound: the coordination and systems that support the work, not just the sales message itself.
That foundation has remained relevant as my work has moved toward full-cycle B2B sales, go-to-market strategy, and building products.
What I took away
A clever message can’t compensate for a messy process.
Targeting, data, tools, and team coordination all shape whether an outreach effort can run consistently. The work behind the campaign matters, even when it isn’t the part a prospect sees.
